Oil Painters of America: 26th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils

Happy Monday to you all! Today I've been enjoying a beautiful spring day here in Charleston. I'm currently working on a bright floral still life, but wanted to take a quick break to update you on some exciting things going on in my world.

Three of my paintings will be on display at two different shows this upcoming Friday, one of which is the Oil Painters of America's 26th Annual National Juried Exhibition of Traditional Oils. (Click here for a full recap on the other show!)

Oil Painters of America (OPA) is "dedicated to preserving and promoting excellence in representational art." In that pursuit, they have an annual juried exhibition (as well as regional exhibitions) and showcases to highlight work from some of the country's top artists. That is why it was an absolute honor to have a painting accepted into this year's show.

The Fire Dancer 37 x 24: I found this incredible fire dancer while we were staying in Rome last year. We could take a walk a few minutes from our apartment and land in a square near the Basilica di Santa Maria. There were a handful of restaurants surrounding the square and a fountain in the center. At night, street performers and fire dancers would come out and entertain the crowd - mostly filled with European tourists, a few American tourists, and even some locals. Without a doubt, this woman with a red flower in her hair was the most graceful. We would sit on the fountain steps many nights and watch her perform.

The Fire Dancer, together with over 200 other phenomenal works in the show (which you should look through here), will be on display at a gallery in Cincinnati starting this upcoming weekend.

Opening Reception: Friday, May 12th from 6-9pm

Eisele Gallery of Fine Art

5729 Dragon Way

Cincinnati, Ohio 45227

The show will then stay up until the closing reception on June 23rd (also from 6-9pm).
